Looney Tunes is synonymous with slapstick. Watching any episode I can’t imagine that many kids took / take much notice of the backgrounds in which Elmer hopelessly hunted, the Road Runner pummeled, Pepe p.u.’d, and Bugs Bunny said “What’s Up”.
Remove the noise, there’s some beautiful painterly landscapes and color blocking hiding behind all the hijinks. And I’m so glad the person running this account, Looney Tunes Backgrounds, has so painstakingly curated and shared what that world looks like. The artists’ work really shines, and each scene is transformed from silly into serene.
